Garth Brooks announces two December shows at Target Center

Garth Brooks is returning to Minneapolis in December for the first time since 2019 . The country megastar announced Friday that he will play two shows at Target Center on Dec. 11 and 12 as part of his arena tour, Blame It All on My Roots. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 13. Brooks last played in Minnesota for two nights at U.S. Bank Stadium in 2019. Before those shows, he called Minneapolis “the biggest city for us in our career.” He’s played in front of more than 500,000 people in the Twin Cities since 1998. The two-night stand also gives Brooks a chance to reconnect with the person who inspired his 2023 song , “St. Paul/Minneapolis,” about a chance encounter he had with a woman during his last visit. Advertisement “I don’t have a clue who she is. It’s the weirdest thing,” he told Billboard in 2023. “When she started talking, there was something in me that unlocked. In my dream of dreams, I’d love to run into her again and see if that easy feeling was really that or am I just imagining things.” Brooks has been cryptic about the details behind the encounter, “because if this person is going to show up, then she’ll know the details that nobody else does and I’ll know I’m talking to the right person.” Jon Bream of the Minnesota Star Tribune contributed to this report.
